After much debate we have decided to put out the results as a teaser of what to come. Please read about what happened before commenting.

Ok, so heres how it went down. We started to get the initial tuning items complete, ie: Base fuel, ignition, idle and the rest of the calibration. Then we started turning the low side of the rpm and low load cruising. Then we started the high rpm cruising (no load) and ran into a problem.

these threads all have people running into the same problem we had.

We could not rev the motor over 5200 rpm, load or no load. Even at a free rev it would break up at 5200. So we pulled the plugs, grapped another set of iridiums and put them in. Still had the problem. We then quit for the night.

We research and found the above threads. The issue was with the AEM and aftermarket cams. The second part was the weak cam and crank signals nd the AEM. The fix is suppose to be to shave down the sensors to reduce the air gap and make the signal stronger so the AEM doesn't freak out. It worked and 5200 rpm breakup went away. So we did a pull under load to see where we were at with the wastegate pressure of .9 bar. The gates creep open and on 15psi she was well into 430whp with no timing or fuel changes.

We started to get breakup again (6000rpm) so we took out the sensors and shaved more. It went away and made 491whp on 17pi after we adjusted only the timing. The boost also came on earlier.

Then the breakup/misfire came back at 6200rpm. But not every time. It would come and go. We would do a pull and it would be clean, do another and then it would break up.

We went through the grounds, added a few, isolated the EMS, checked voltage at idle and under full load.

We shaved a bit more and it went away and ran clean. So we turned on the boost controller to verify that it was working and set it to 10% duty cycle. Did a pull and it made 511 whp at 19psi at 5700rpm then broke up right at 5700rpm.

So we stopped and we are hunting for answers as to why the breakups / misfires are so random. Sometimes they are there, do another run and change nothing and they are gone. We logged sync, timing errors, cam signals, crank signals, everything, and it was all in check.

We will make contact will some of the folks in the previous links to see what else worked for them. We think the signals are still dirty and causing part of the problem. We are also considering a change of plugs to non iridium NGK's.

Remember, these are not final numbers at all. She made 511whp at 5700rpm on the climb and at only 19psi. Also, we noted that the more boost it made, the earlier it would come on. Not later. We still have 11psi until 30 and more rpm range to go. This is why we said she looks very promising.

Still working the issue. We have a new cam sensor in it and some Okada Project coils to see if they will help. We will update after the test is concluded.

Ok, here's the scoop. Remember that the dyno is the Mustang 500AWD

All prior misfire issues are fixed. We put her on the dyno today despite the fact that this is one of the hottest and humid days of the year for us in MN. So please keep that in mind. The temp in the dyno area was 100 degrees and humidity was well over 90% throughout our test window and there were a few MNSubaru members there that can chime in on the heat. This took its toll once we turned up boost and demanded more from the turbo, imagine that.

So what was the result? On E85, 683whp and 552wtq Peak power arrived at 7150rpm. We actually ran out of fuel pump. It started to make more power on the next run but the pump could not move enough E85 to get a full run. It made 679whp at ony 6400 rpm then we had to get out of it.

Next we moved to race gas (110) to get back the head room we lost from the E85. On race gas it made 701whp and 555wtq Peak power came in at 7040rpm. The heat was proving to be a limiting factor. With the same tune we know we can make more power just by running it on a cooler day.

The car loves boost!!! It took every single thing we through at it. The max boost we ran was 38psi. This was limited by the air temp and high humidity. We are looking to run 40+ psi.

There are still a few known issues with the car, mostly things that will effect spool but it is pretty rock solid and it is FAST!!!
